This first workshop on the subject is to evaluate if „Baltic Diabetes Cluster“ can provide an effective platform for collaborative research in metabolic conditions linked to progressive cardiovascular and renal diseases, for example by establishing working groups such as „Baltic working group for cardiometabolic and renal risk assessment“ and „Baltic Apheresis WG“.

of the EU Directive 2011/24/EU on patients’ rights and cross-border healthcare at the national level should help
improve collaboration.
